TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR RICH EDE TREE SURGEON T/A RE-TREE

QUOTATIONS & ESTIMATES

Because every tree surgery, stump grinding, and landscaping project presents unique site conditions, tree sizes, and access variables, we provide clear, individual quotations based on a detailed assessment or site visit.

Variables that may affect your quotation include site accessibility, potential risk factors, waste removal requirements, equipment needed (e.g., specialist machinery, cranes, or diggers), and any necessity for local council permissions or Tree Preservation Order (TPO) applications. Written quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.

PAYMENT TERMS

  • Standard Terms: Unless otherwise agreed in writing, invoices are issued upon completion of the work and are due for payment within 7 days of the invoice date.

  • Deposits / Advance Payments: For large-scale domestic projects, commercial contracts, or extensive site clearances, a deposit (up to 50%) may be required to secure the booking and cover initial plant hire or specialist resource costs.

  • Late Payments: If payment is not made within the agreed timeframe, we reserve the right to charge statutory late payment interest at a rate of 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate, accruing daily from the due date until full payment is received.

  • Debt Recovery: In accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, we reserve the right to add a fixed compensation fee (starting at £40 per invoice) alongside any reasonable legal or debt recovery costs incurred in recovering outstanding monies. All payments must be made in full without deductions.

BOOKINGS & AVAILABILITY

Bookings are confirmed once the quote is accepted in writing or electronically, and any required deposit is paid. While we endeavor to stick strictly to scheduled dates, arboricultural work is highly dependent on safe operational conditions. Fixed bookings where deposits are paid will take priority over tentative dates.

WEATHER & CANCELLATIONS

  • Severe Weather: Tree surgery and aerial tree work are subject to safety risks posed by severe weather conditions (e.g., high winds, torrential rain, heavy snow, or lightning). If work must be postponed due to unsafe weather, we will re-schedule the project for the earliest available date at no extra penalty to the client.

  • Client Cancellations: If you need to cancel or reschedule a booking, we request at least 48 hours' notice. If a job is cancelled by the client without adequate notice, or is cancelled entirely after preparation work/site visits have commenced, any deposit paid may be retained to cover administrative, scheduling, and site preparation costs.

SITE ACCESS, PREPARATION & WASTE

  • Clear Access: The client is responsible for providing clear and safe access to the working area, including securing any pets, moving vehicles, and clearing temporary garden structures where necessary.

  • Site Cleanliness: We take pride in our pledge to leave every site as clean as (or cleaner than) we found it. Unless specified otherwise in your quote (e.g., if you choose to keep timber for firewood or mulch for garden use), all woodchip, timber, and green waste will be removed and recycled responsibly.

PERMITS, REGULATION & COMPLIANCE

  • Tree Preservation Orders (TPO) & Conservation Areas: It is the client's responsibility to inform us if any trees on site are subject to a TPO or located within a Conservation Area. Where requested, we can assist or submit TPO applications on your behalf.

  • Safety Regulations: All work is carried out in strict accordance with relevant UK health and safety regulations, including PUWER (1998) and LOLER (1998). Site-specific risk assessments and method statements are available upon request.

PHOTOGRAPHY & PROMOTION

We take pride in the quality of our craftsmanship. Unless you specifically request otherwise prior to commencement of work, we reserve the right to take and use before-and-after photographs or video footage of the site for our portfolio, website, and internal marketing/PR purposes. No private or identifying client details will ever be published.

CONFIDENTIALITY

All enquiries, site details, and commercial agreements will be treated in the strictest confidence.
